Why is this okay?

I am at the airport fairly often and I see this machine, and I see people gladly standing in there, hands up… many of them even smiling and giggling like it’s funny. Oh yes, it’s a regular riot! Hysterical dontcha think? That a relatively naked digital image of my entire body - my most personal identity - is being viewed by some random stranger or strangers AND being stored in a *Global* database for any moron with a moderate understanding of hacking to have access to… along with my Identification, name, address etc…. isn’t it just a regular knee-slapper?
What is going on? What is wrong with everyone? Why is this okay?
Is it for our “safety”? Is that what you are telling yourself? That losing your identity and your basic humanity, and giving up your wrists to the loss of liberty… is all for your “safety?” And how exactly is that?
I see this happening, and it leaves me with the most desperate feeling of hopelessness for the human race. When will we evolve?
Why do we allow this despicable invasion? Why are we suddenly okay with assumed guilt until we prove our innocence?
Is it fear? Fear of what? The dark skinned villains with the maniacal mustaches whose images are posted all over our sick media? Is that it? Are those the images that make us behave like caged rats?
Look at this… why is this okay?
