Oklahoma Gov thinks U.S. Constitution is a bad idea?
Governor Henry of Oklahoma vetoed the 10th Amendment Resolution.
The Bill, HJR 1003 which asserts the right that each state ALREADY HAS under the Constitution for the United States, has been vetoed by a man working for the same government which is supposed to protect the Constitution. Not to mention the man himself swore an oath to uphold the Constitution and has now vetoed a bill that supports the very document he swore an oath to uphold.
Of course, he twisted it all around in his official statement:

The statement is mind-boggling. It’s not remotely accurate.
Lets get it straight here shall we?
The tenth amendment of the Constitution reads:
The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.
Meaning: powers not granted to the national government nor prohibited to the states are reserved to the states or the people.
That is it. It secures sovereignty of state.
The bill, HJR 1003 does not attempt to re-write the Constitution. It does not attempt to amend, distort, re-word or defile the Constitution. On the contrary, HJR 1003 and SB 10 very simply assert a right that is ALREADY GRANTED. Thus making Gov. Henry’s veto clearly unconstitutional and actually rather irritating as he is quite literally SCREWING WITH YOUR FREEDOM!
Of course…. several weeks ago Texas Gov. Perry signed their resolution into law, but very cleverly (because these folks wear two hats) mentioned the word “succession” in his speech…. and… of course this is the word that the media clung to so that the majority of the comatosed nation who are not apparently informed see Texas as “extremists” and weirdos and loons who want to separate from America.
Sigh…. folks… please, please stop this inebriation of mind and lets try to focus here okay? Nobody is breaking up the country, all we are doing is asserting a right the state ALREADY HAS!
Why is this so hard to understand?
Okay… so… what do we do?
Well, it can be over-ridden. Here’s the thing though… YOU NEED TO GET INVOLVED.
I’ve told you before and I’ll tell you again, you will very literally secure your own chains on your own wrists and the wrists of your children if you fail to act. This is not some extreme whacko statement I’m making. It’s very simply the truth. If we do not come together to protect the document that makes us the nation that we are, then we will certainly fracture and guess what? It will be YOUR fault for turning over and going back to sleep, or failing to understand what is happening here.
This is not for republicans, it is not for democrats, it is not for third parties. This is for YOU. The Constitution was written for all Americans, and if our elected officials do not uphold it, then WE must!!! If we do not, then - yes my friends - the nation will indeed break apart, and it will be our failure to act that is to blame.
After you read this, allow yourself some time to let it absorb…spend a day deliberating with your inner voice over what kind of person you are. If you will ignore the political scene and pretend like it has nothing to do with you….. ignoring the fact that your country is falling apart at your feet…. if you are the type to believe the utter nonsense, rather than the black and white print of the Constitution itself…. if you are the type of person who would see the Declaration of Independence burn to ashes…..
Or if you are the more intelligent, wise, American type that will help to stop the madness.
If you are concerned for America, then please, for the love of all that is still good in this world, defend the statements and documents on which America was founded.
We have a plan of action to override this veto. All levels of help are needed in a variety of areas, from writing, to phone calls to public speaking, to organizing, to simple communicating…. If you plan to help (in whatever way you can) please contact me.
Understand what the 10th Amendment is.
Do something.
