Secession?

Wow! It’s amazing to me just how ill-informed the majority of the American population is on some issues.
As this writer puts it, session is not such a new and crazy idea. Imagine if the colonies decided not to seceed from England? Oh wait… some say it’s not the same thing… A informed group of people who value their freedom wishing to separate from a tyrannical ruling body. Hmmmm…. sounds pretty familiar to me.
I’m recommending the following article, but first let me point out that to date - no State has filed for succession. No State has made any move toward session. The states that are claiming their 10th Amendment Constitutional rights, are simply reiterating what the Constitution ALREADY SAYS. Session is currently just a rumor folks, so lets please keep the gossip to a minimum and stick to the reality.
That said, here is an excellent article on the misunderstanding of state session. And then I’ll put the question to you…. Does a State have a right to secede? Should a State secede if the majority of it’s residents oppose the Federal United States?
“When Texas Gov. Rick Perry said last month that his state had the right to secede from the United States, liberals scoffed, laughing at the mere suggestion.
When polls showed that one third of Texans believed in the right of secession, one liberal blogger said it was further proof of “just how whacked out Republicans are becoming during these days of their political exile.” When various states introduced sovereignty resolutions, including South Carolina and Oklahoma, liberals considered it childish posturing; the Charleston City Paper’s Greg Hambrick wrote, S.C.’s legislature was just “stomping their feet in dissatisfaction” with the Obama administration.”
