Rediscovering Liberty
The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people. The tenth amendment to the Constitution for the United States.
With those powerful words our founding fathers very wisely, and very appropriately, put into being the nation we now know as the United States of America. A national government in Washington, a confederated republic, made up of 50 independent states.
But, before there was ever a government, there were sovereign individual states.
The Constitution clearly recognizes that we are a “republic”… and that each State has its own Constitution, with its own set of laws.
The individual States voluntarily came together and agreed to operate together for the betterment of the public good – and created the national government for one core purpose – to protect and defend the rights of the individual.
But, over the last many generations the federal government, seeking to grow - as all governments throughout history have done - have become increasingly involved with activities that have been reserved solely to the states; such as education, or healthcare, and even highways and roads.
And, over the last century our government has been creating new laws, laws that are utterly outside the scope of the Constitution, and forcing those laws upon the states – whereby today we find ourselves in a position where we have practically no say in how we feel best to regulate ourselves, and provide for ourselves that which would bring us the most liberty and freedom and happiness.
Today the US Constitution is practically meaningless to the executive branch and to our Congress. Our leaders are swearing an oath to defend the Constitution of the United States… and most of them have broken their oath within just days of being in office.
But, that’s okay… we’ll just sit by and let them do whatever they want. So long as I can go to work, come home, watch my football games on the weekend, and maybe catch this week’s American Idol… why should I care? I mean, most of this stuff doesn’t really affect me anyway, right?
Well, we better care… and we better all wake up, because here are a few things that have been happening while we’ve been sleeping all these years…
- Bills like the Patriot Act and Patriot Act II empower the federal government to conduct secret arrests, collect DNA samples from anyone “suspected” of terrorism and allow the government to take away an American’s citizenship.
- The John Warner Defense Act which allows the President to declare a “public emergency” and station troops anywhere in America and take control of state-based National Guard units without the consent of the governor or local authorities, in order to “suppress public disorder” and “civil disobedience.”
- The National Security and Homeland Security Presidential Directive declares that in the case of a “catastrophic event”, “The President shall lead the activities of the Federal Government for ensuring constitutional government.”
This directive literally gives the White House unprecedented dictatorial power over the government and the country, bypassing the US Congress and obliterating the separation of powers.
- Just 2 days ago the house passed the “GIVE” act (Generations Invigorating Volunteerism and Education Act) whereby young people of Oklahoma will be forced to undertake mandatory national service – or as I like to call it, “Indentured Servitude” - and also states that “service learning” will be “a mandatory part of the curriculum in all of the secondary schools served by the local educational agency.”
- We have the Stimulus bill, where our Congress agreed to allow the unconstitutional and private Federal Reserve to steal the wealth of Americans and hand it over to private banking institutions, so that they can lend our own money back to us at interest.
- We have the long-time-planned destruction of the US economy to usher in a new world currency controlled by corrupt bankers and oligarchs… we are funding our own despotism!
- We have the complete elimination of Posse Comitatus… as thousands of US Troops are being assigned to American city streets to prepare for “civil unrest”. Marines are working closely with state police in California doing “sobriety checkpoints” and arresting Americans in American cities.
- Right now it is being reported that in Schenectady, New York, city officials are considering scrapping the entire police force in response to the actions of a small selection of officers who have been accused of assaulting citizens, and replacing the entire local police force with National Guardsmen in an effort to clean up law enforcement in the area.
- Our sons and daughters in the National Guard are being hauled off to fight in illegitimate corporate wars overseas… leaving the state deprived of the power to defend itself against the invasion from the south.
- In May of 2005, our U.S. senators voted — unanimously, with no discussion, and without even reading the bill — to create a national ID card.
The Real ID Act blackmails state governments into turning their drivers licenses into a tool of the federal homeland security apparatus. If states refuse, their citizens lose such “privileges” as being allowed to board an airplane, enter a federal building, own a gun, or apply for social security. Personal information such as fingerprints, retinal scans, face scans, body scans, DNA, and every piece of information connected to your social security number… will be stored on an RFID electronic chip that can be scanned, traced and tracked. Everywhere you go, everything you do, and everything you buy or sell will be monitored and recorded by our government and shared with international databases… all in the name of “security”.
Full body scanners are in place in the local airports… for “security”… while those all-too-clear images of your naked body will be stored in International databases for future use, and for anybody to see.
We have planes spraying toxic chemicals in our skies, cancer causing neurotoxins such as sodium and stannous fluoride are being put into our drinking water, our food is being engineered in laboratories creating chimeras made of plants and animals, pharmaceutical companies are creating deadly compounds and shoving them down our throats with absolutely no concern for our safety…. deadly toxins such as mercury, aluminum and formaldehyde are being injected directly into the bloodstreams of our children and grandchildren.
FEMA is preparing and manning hundreds of prison camps all over the country. The question is, “who do they intend to PUT in those camps?”
People are being huddled into free speech zones if they want to have a rally, and citizens in Oklahoma and Missouri are being detained and arrested for displaying anti-Obama pro-life bumper stickers.
THIS, IN THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA!
Am I the only one here that is embarrassed at what we’ve allowed ourselves to become as a nation?
We cannot hide the reality of what’s happening… and we certainly cannot allow it to continue. This is why we need to restrict the size and scope of government.
So please… this tenth amendment resolution is a big step… this is standing up and saying no to tyranny.
This is not just some frivolous resolution that does nothing… this is historical. People all over the country are rediscovering their liberties and freedoms… interfacing with their local government and saying “hey, be part of the solution”… so that we can have a safe and happy and vibrant community where people can grow and live and learn.
So, get on the playing field… be part of history.
I want to thank all of you that came here to be a part of the 2nd American Revolution… we shall prevail, I guarantee you that.
We may not have the massive mechanisms, the machinery, and the sophisticated systems of government and of the military and militarized police…
But what we have is guts… and sometimes… guts are enough.
